Suitable for development, test and service work, the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator is a high-performance synthesised radiofrequency generator with high-frequency accuracy and stability, a large signal amplitude range, low phase noise, and flexible analogue and digital modulation. It is small and lightweight with an easy-to-use touchscreen display and advanced remote control; the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator can be easily integrated into new and existing systems.
A capacity for digital modulation separates this model from its sister product the Aim-TTi TGR2051 RF Signal Generator.
Amplitude and Frequency
The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator has a frequency range of 150kHz to 1.5GHz, a frequency accuracy of 1ppm (<1ppm drift in the first year), and a frequency setting resolution of 10Hz.
Additionally, the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator has an amplitude range spanning -127dBm to +13dBm with a setting resolution of 0.1dBm. The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator’s amplitude can be set in dBm, dBµV or linear volts.
As mentioned above, the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator provides low phase noise: <-117dBc/Hz (typical) at 1GHz output and 10kHz offset. It provides high signal purity.
Analogue Modulation
The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator’s integrated DDS generator provides Sine, Square, +Ramp, -Ramp and triangle waveforms that can be applied in AM, FM or PM forms from the internal modulation source at frequencies ranging from 1mHz to 1MHz.
External analogue modulation can be applied to the carrier waveforms via the MOD in/out located at the rear of the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator.
Digital Modulation
Similarly, via the MOD in/out, external digital modulation can be applied to carrier waveforms. The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 Synthesised RF Signal Generator supports the following digital modulations: FSK, GFSK, MSK, HMSK, 3FSK, 4FSK, PSK, ASK and OOK.
Additionally, the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 Synthesised RF Signal Generator’s integrated NRZ patterns include Square wave 7, 9, 11 & 15-bit PRBS. The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 Synthesised RF Signal Generator’s digital modulation also includes advanced filtering such as gaussian, raised cosine, root raised cosine, grey code and binary encoding.
Digital modulation can be triggered externally, internally, manually or remotely.
Internal Modulation Pattern
Uniquely tailored patterns of up to 16384 states can be created via the front panel or imported via the USB port or digital interface. The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 Synthesised RF Signal Generator’s pattern generator allows patterns to be created and used to modulate the carrier signal.
Flash Drive
In addition to modulation patterns, pre-defined complex setups and sweep lists can be uploaded to the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator via the front-mounted USB flash drive.
Storage
Up to 1000 complete setups, sweep lists and arbitrary modulation patterns can be stored in the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator’s 4GB internal memory.
Sweep Functions
The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator is equipped with a Step Sweep function and a List Sweep function; this allows a full range of input conditions to be tested using signals of varying frequency and amplitude.
The Step Sweep function can be used to create sweep tests according to a formula over a specified number of points (2-1000). It can be run in either direction with linear or logarithmic spacing; the user must specify the following parameters:
- Start value
- Stop value
- Dwell time following SYNC at each point
Alternatively, the List Sweep function can be used to test known problematic frequencies within a setup, and analyse responses and amplitude-dwelling at set frequencies for specified amounts of time. List Sweep tests can be created on the instrument or downloaded via the remote interface.
Sweep tests can be run as a single sweep or in a continuous loop prompted by an internal, external or manual trigger. Furthermore, complex sweep triggering can be used to control complete sweeps and/or each point within a sweep. The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator has a sweep settling time of 5ms.
Graphic User Interface (GUI)
Measurement parameters can be edited using the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator’s hard keys and rotary knob or via the 4.3-inch, colour, touchscreen LCD. All of the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator’s measurement parameters can be directly edited via the menu screen, which reduces the number of steps required to make an alteration.
To ensure maximum efficiency and clarity, key information is displayed alongside readings on the touchscreen display.
Ergonomic, Easy-to-Integrate Design
As the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator features SCPI compatibility, it can be integrated into existing systems using a universal SCPI command set. It can also be integrated into existing systems and serves as a replacement for Aim-TTi’s older TGR2050 and TGR1040 models.
Additionally, the Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator includes an IVI-COM/ IVI-C driver for Windows which supports high-level applications such as LabView, LabWindows and Keysight VEE. It also includes USB and LAN (LXI) interfaces through which it can be programmed.
Finally, this small and lightweight radiofrequency generator can be rack-mounted using an OPTIONAL 2U 19” rack kit.
The Aim-TTi TGR2051-U01 RF Signal Generator is a versatile, practical and high-performing synthesised radiofrequency generator.
