The Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter is a frequency meter with a measurement range spanning 0.001Hz to 6000MHz. It has high input sensitivity over the entire frequency range.

High Accuracy

The Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter’s high-quality, temperature-compensated internal frequency reference (TCXO) has a low ageing rate and is stable to ±1ppm over the full temperature range. It has a short warm-up time, ensuring that the Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter can take accurate measurements even when battery powered.

Additionally, the Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter will automatically swap over from the internal timebase when an external reference standard is connected to the external reference input.

High Resolution

To ensure a high-resolution at all frequencies, the Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter uses a reciprocal counting technique. It provides an eight-digit measurement in one second, a nine-digit reading in ten seconds, and a ten-digit measurement in one-hundred seconds. Ten-digit readings have a granularity of fewer than two counts in the least significant digit.

Ten-Digit LCD

Measurements can be viewed in Hz, kHz, MHz, ns, us, ms or s on the Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter’s high-contrast, ten-digit display with a 12.5mm digit height. Via the display, and the Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter’s comprehensive array of annunciators, the user can view the input configuration and function, measurement time and status, external reference connection, and low battery indication.

Flexible Signal Conditioning

The Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter also includes three inputs optimised for use with different frequency ranges.

Input A

Input A features configurable coupling (AC or DC), input impedance (1MΩ or 50Ω), attenuation (1:1 or 5:1), a fully variable threshold, and an active edge.  It is designed for use with frequencies between 0.001Hz and >125MHz.

Input B

Designed for use with frequencies between 80MHz and >3GHz. It is a nominal 50Ω input.

Input C

Input C, like Input B, is a nominal 50Ω input; however, it also includes a standard N connector. This input is designed for use with frequencies between 1.8GHz and 6GHz.

USB Interface

The integrated USB interface facilitates remote control of the Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter using an RS-232 protocol via a computer’s USB port.

Additionally, the Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter supports the remote commands of its predecessor, the Aim-TTi TF830.

Battery Operation

The Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter can be powered via its USB port or via its internal, rechargeable NiMH batteries. These batteries, combined with the Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter’s low-power consumption, provide up to twenty-four hours of operation.

The Aim-TTi TF960 6GHz Bench/ Portable Universal Counter’s NiMH batteries can be recharged in under four hours using the supplied AC charger.
