The Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply is a laboratory DC power supply suitable for benchtop and system applications. It has a single channel and a maximum total power output of 1.2kW (1200W).
Conventional PSUs have a fixed current limit, as a result, the power capability reduces directly with the output current; however, the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply’s PowerFlex design allows it to function as a flexible PSU.
PowerFlex allows the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply to generate higher currents at lower voltages within its overall power limit envelope. The channel can be set to have an output of up to 60V and up to 50A within its 1200W power envelope. The Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply’s output can provide three times the current of a conventional PSU with the same voltage and power and its wide range of voltage/ current combinations equips it with maximum flexibility.
Additionally, the PowerFlex regulator includes a linear output stage ensuring the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply has low output noise and good transient response.
In addition to indicating the voltage and current, the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply can be programmed to display the total power being applied to the load (VxA). Total power is displayed to a resolution of 0.1W.
It is also possible to set the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply to display the equivalent resistance of the load (voltage divided by current). The Low Resistance function allows resistance measurements to be made at high currents as it uses the remote sense terminals to create a four-terminal connection. This method provides more reliable results for magnets and other components that operate at ampere levels.
Similarly, the Current Meter Averaging function is useful when measuring rapidly changing loads as it stabiles the display by showing the average reading taken from the last four measurements, this reduces the speed and extent of variation.
Measurements are shown via the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply’s high-resolution, graphic LCD which can be adjusted to display numbers and text in a variety of sizes, allowing the user to tailor the PSU to his/ her requirements. In Standard Display mode, the voltage and current are indicated using large digits and are accompanied by text annotations such as 'CV mode' and 'Output On'.
When changing the settings, the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply uses a dual display of parameters, allowing the operator to view the existing and new settings simultaneously. Alternatively, the user can view actual or limit values simultaneously.
When configuring complex functions, the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply provides text prompts or complete selection menus.
The user can configure the voltage and current levels using the numeric keypad. Alternatively, the jog wheel can be used to set voltage and current parameters at user-selectable increments. The Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply has a high setting resolution of 1mV in up to 60V.
The Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply’s output can support variable OVP and OCP trips. When triggered, over-voltage and over-current protection trips will shut off the output and provide a different level of protection.
The output trip can also be activated by other fault conditions such as over-temperature and remote sense miswiring. When the OCP and OVP trips are triggered, the cause of the activation is shown on the display.
Voltage and current settings can be saved to non-volatile stores, this allows parameters to be recalled rapidly which is particularly helpful when using the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply for repetitive testing.
The Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply is suitable for benchtop or rack-mounted applications. To this end, it is housed in a 350mm-wide (13 ¾”), 3U-high case and features output and remote sense terminals, as well as analogue and logic connectors on the front and rear of the unit. Additionally, an OPTIONAL rack-mounting kit for the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply is available.
The Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply features analogue interfaces for both output voltage and output current (non-isolated).
The control voltage is digitised and the scaling can be selected between 0 to 5V or 0 to 10V for zero to full scale, enabling control of the PSU. Similarly, monitor outputs for voltage and current are provided and can be selected as 0 to 5V or 0 to 10V.
Additionally, the Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply is equipped with an opto-isolated logic control signal enabling the user to engage and disengage the output. The user can set true to equal output on, or true to equal output off using the menu. In addition to this, an opto-isolated open-collector logic output signal is also available and can be set to true or false for output enabled or disabled, current limit, power limit or any fault trip using the menu.
The Aim-TTi QPX1200S Digital Bench Power Supply is a flexible, simple-to-use and practical PSU suitable for benchtop, system and rack-mounted applications.
