The Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply is a dual-channel laboratory power supply system capable of providing fixed and flexible outputs.
PowerFlex Design
Due to the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s PowerFlex design it is able to provide variable voltage and current combinations within the maximum power envelope; it can produce higher currents at lower voltages. The Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply has a maximum power output of 420W per channel (total power output: 840W), a maximum voltage output of 60V per channel and a maximum current output of 20A per channel.
To provide a good transient response and to reduce noise, the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s PowerFlex regulation system utilises a high-frequency pre-regulator in combination with a linear post regulator. Each output can operate in constant voltage or constant current mode with automatic crossover and mode indication.
Isolated Voltage Tracking
Electronic isolation of each of the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s independent outputs ensures greater flexibility. The V-Track mode maintains electronic isolation whilst enabling the voltage control on the master output to set an identical voltage on the slave output. As a result, the user is able to create two rails of either polarity that can be referenced to different grounds if required.
Alternatively, the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s outputs can be wired in parallel or series to generate a voltage output of 120V and current output of 40A.
Output Control
Both of the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s outputs feature an independent On/Off control. However, the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply also includes a Both On/ Both Off control for the simultaneous activation and deactivation of the two channels. This is particularly useful when working on circuits that can be damaged if only one of the voltage rails is present.
Precision Metering and Remote Sense
In addition to an independent On/Off switch, each of the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s channels is equipped with a separate voltage and current meter. These 4-digit displays with their fixed 10mA/ 10mV resolutions prevent misinterpretation of readings and allow the user to view accurate and consistent measurements for each output at a glance.
Additionally, each output features coarse and fine voltage controls and a logarithmic current control which allows low current levels to be set accurately. The View Settings button allows the user to see and alter settings as necessary.
Furthermore, to ensure precise regulation at the load and true metering of the load voltage, each of the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s outputs includes remote sense terminals. The remote sense terminals can be activated and deactivated as required.
The Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s channels are also over-voltage protected.
Analogue Control with Digital Stability
As mentioned above, each of the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply’s outputs features voltage and current controls. The Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply retains the easy-to-use analogue controls of its predecessor, the Aim-TTi CPX400A Power Supply. However, to prevent drift and accidental alteration, this PSU includes an S-Lock function which transfers control of voltage and current from the analogue dials to the internal digital circuitry; thereby providing the user with the ease of analogue control and the precision and stability of digital operation.
Fixed Power Supply
In addition to functioning as a PSU with variable outputs, the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply can also be used as a fixed power supply at either 60V/7A or 20V/20A. The Fixed Power Mode provides finer resolution on the voltage and current control and ensures that the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply remains in either constant voltage or constant current mode regardless of the load.
Moreover, the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply also includes an option for customising the voltage and current limits, allowing the user to tailor the PSU to his/her application. This makes it easier for the user to set up the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply for his/her application and reduces the possibility of error.
Ergonomic Design
The Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply is compact ensuring that it is suitable for use on crowded laboratory benches. The Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply also includes safety binding posts capable of accommodating normal plugs, bare wires, fork connections and fixed-shroud 4mm plugs common to laboratories. The binding posts are touch-safe to 250V due to their limited opening length and raised insulated shoulders.
In addition to this, the compact size of the Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply (half-rack by 3U case size) means that two units can be fitted in a single rack slot.
The Aim-TTi CPX400D Digital Bench/ System DC Power Supply is a compact, comprehensive and customisable PSU.

When currents greater than 20A are required, the outputs can be wired in parallel to create the equivalent of a 40A power supply with the voltage controlled from the Master. Track Accuracy: Slave voltage = ± (0·1% of Master voltage setting + 10mV) |
